This M.2 adapter is designed and built to be used with the Gateworks families of rugged and industrial single board computers. Dual Nano SIM slots are available on the back side of the card. The M.2 slot is a B-Key slot that supports USB 2.0 & 3.0 depending on the model, with PCIe signalling optional. To accommodate these new 5G modems, such as the Telit FN980M, Gateworks has released a flexible Mini-PCIe to M.2 adapter that supports modems up to 52mm in length.

It has 3G fallback for areas not covered by 4G. The MDG200 is multi carrier capable – it works on common Network Operators in the EU and will associate with a network based on the SIM card that is inserted. The carrier board for the MDG200-M2 version is compatible with the M.2 2230 form factor. The MDG200 consists of both a main board and a carrier board.
